Wife of Henry John Stowell (married March 16, 1875 at Orwell, New York) & Lewis Chapin Samson (married November 7, 1903 at Orwell, New York.)       Newspaper Obituary - Wednesday, April 26, 1916 Pulaski Democrat - Pulaski, New York - Orwell - Mrs. Sarah Samson - Mrs. Sarah Samson passed away Friday morning, April 21st, after an illness of many months. She was a daughter of the late William Hollis and was united in marriage with Henry J. Stowell, March 16, 1875. To them were born three children, Grace R., Claude H., and Samuel Jay. A few years after the death of Mr. Stowell, his widow was united in marriage with Lewis S. Samson [sic], who died in September, 1909. The presents and influence of Mrs. Samson will be missed in several orders in Orwell, where she served as a faithful conscientious member as long as her health permitted. For many years she has been a member of the Congregational church and missionary society, S. M. Olmstead Relief Corps, Orwell Grange No. 66, L.O.T.M. Hive No. 270 and of the Women's Christian Temperance Union. The funeral services conducted in the church Monday forenoon by her pastor, Rev. T. T. Davies, were attended by a large number of friends and relatives. The Circle of Gleaners, and organized class of the Sunday School which was taught many years by Mrs. Samson was present in a body, also members of W.R.C., S. M. Olmstead Post and L.O.T.M. Hive No. 270. Among the relatives from out of town who attended the funeral were Jay Stowell, of Sheboygan, Wisconsin; Mr. and Mrs. W. E. Purdie, of Syracuse; Theron Hollis, of Ilion; Mr. and Mrs. Malcolm Hollis, Mr. and Mrs. Henry Hollis, Mr. and Mrs. Frank Hollis, of Pulaski; John J. Hollis, W. C. Hollis, Mrs. E. Ingersoll, Lacona; Mrs. G. L. Stevens, Sandy Creek.
