      W.P. Tinney Dies at 84 - William P. Tinney, 84, of 4721 Chester Ave., died Monday. He was founder of the funeral home that bore his name. Mr. Tinney was a member of the first graduating class at Roman Catholic High School in 1894. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus and the Friendly Sons of St. Patrick. Mr. Tinney is survived by three sons, the Rev. Nicholas Joseph, O.F.M., Edward J. and Francis J.; two daughters, Mrs. Elizabeth Urevick and Mrs. Mary O'Connor, 14 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren. Requiem mass at 9 a.m. Saturday at St. Francis DeSales Church.

      W.P. Tinney, Funeral Home Director, Dies - William P. Tinney, founder of the firm of William P. Tinney and Son, funeral direcotrs, died Monday at his home, 4721 Chester ave. He was 84. Mr. Tinney who was a member of the first class to be graduated from Roman Catholic High School, in 1894, served as a member of Draft Board 27 during the First World War. He also was a member of the Knights of Columbus. He belonged to the Friendly Sons of ST. Patrick and was a member of the Artisans Southwestern Assembly 18. He was treasurer of the Old Delancey Building and Loan Association for 45 years. He is survived by three sons, the Rev. Nicholas Joseph, O.F.M., Edward J. and Francis J.; two daughters, Mrs. Elizabeth Urevick and Mrs. Mary O'Connor; 14 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren and two brothers and three sisters. Solemn Requiem Mass will be sung at 9 A.M. Saturday at St. Francis deSales Church, 47th st. and Springfield ave. Interment will be in Holy Cross Cemetery.

      W. P. Tinney, 84, Dies At Phila. William P. Tinney, 84, died Monday at his home, 4721 Chester Avenue, Philadelphia, where he conducted a funeral home 30 years. A funeral director 60 years, Mr. Tinney was head of William P. Tinney & Son and formerly had his home at 747 South 20th Street, Philadelphia. Mr. Tinney's wife, the former Cecelia B. McBride of Plymouth, passed away some years ago. A member of the first graduating class of Roman Catholic High School, Philadelphia, in 1894. Mr. Tinney was active in the Knights of Columbus. He was a member of St. Francis deSales Church, Philadelphia. Surviving are three sons, Rev. Nicholas J. Tinney, O.F.M., Bronx, N.Y.; Edward J. and Francis J., of Philadelphia; daughters, Mrs. Elizabeth Urevick and Mrs. Mary O'Connor, Philadelphia; 15 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; three sisters and two brothers. Funeral will be held from the Tinney Funeral HOme Saturday morning at 8:30. A Requiem Mass will be celebrated at 9 in St. Francis de Sales Church. Interment will be in Holy Cross Cemetery, Philadelphia. Friends may call Friday after 2 p.m.
