    • Newspaper Article - Thursday, October 4, 1888 Pulaski Democrat - Pulaski, New York - Married - In Pulaski, at the residence of the brides parents, September 26, 1888, by Rev. A. H. Post, Mr. Benjamin L. Zufelt and Miss Martha M. Dow, only daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Benjamin Dow, all of Pulaski. The bride, for several years had been a compositor in this office, where by her uniform good nature and sunny disposition she made many friends. The entire force of the Democrat, including the publisher and editor, unite in wishing the newly wedded a life of serene happiness and prosperity. The guests, who comprised a few intimate friends and neighbors, made a number of beautiful and appropriate bridal presents, and after the ceremony and before departure were tendered an elegant lunch by Mrs. Dow.

      Newspaper Obituary - Wednesday, June 22, 1915 Pulaski Democrat - Pulaski, New York - Martha Dow Zufelt - After two years of suffering with cancer, Mrs. Martha Dow Zufelt, wife of Benjamin Zufelt, died Tuesday evening, at the home on the Frank Woods farm in the south part of the village. Mrs. Zufelt was born in the house on Furnace Street next to the Ontario Iron Works, forty-eight years ago. She was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Benjamin Dow who were among the early residents of this village. In her early life she attended the Pulaski Academy and later was employed in the Pulaski Democrat office. About twenty-five years ago she married Benjamin Zufelt who with two sons, Oliver and Howard, survive. Her funeral was held from the home Friday, at one o'clock, Rev. H. A. Lawrence of the Congregational church officiating. The funeral was largely attended by friends and neighbors. Mr. Mrs. Herman Cronk, Mr. Bert Zufelt, Mrs. Ann Nellis, Mrs. Mary Farnham, of Ellisburg; Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Shaul, Mr. G. C. Widrig, Sandy Creek; Mr. and Mrs. Jay Zufelt, Lacona, were among the out-of-town friends.
