    • Online Obituary - June 4, 2017 - Mary Lou Otto, 77, of Standing Stone Township, PA passed away Sunday, June 4, 2017 at the Guthrie Robert Packer Hospital in Sayre. Born in Philadelphia, PA on May 20, 1940, she was the daughter of William and Frances Fisher Convill. She was a graduate of Little Flower High School in Philadelphia. Mary Lou served as President of the GCI Union Board in Philadelphia for a number of years and previously held other offices within the union. In later years, She was employed by the District Magistrate’s Office in Wysox. Mary Lou will be remembered as a charitable person and enjoyed socializing with her friends. She loved spending time with her grandchildren, enjoyed traveling, going to casinos, gardening and shopping. Surviving are her husband, Charles Otto; children, Joanne Kane and husband, Joseph of Delran, NJ, Charles Otto and wife, Carrie of Delaware, Edward Otto and wife, Lela of Delaware, Edward Plitt, Sr. and wife, Maureen of Rushville, Robert Otto and wife, Joan of Philadelphia, PA; 15 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; her sister, Frances Convill of New Jersey,; several nieces, nephews and her canine companion, Lilly. In addition to her parents, Mary Lou was predeceased by her sister, Ruth Schada Zietz. A funeral service will be held Saturday, June 10 at 2:30 p.m. at the Maryott-Bowen Funeral Home, 217 York Avenue, Towanda, with Rev. Edward Michelini, pastor of Sts. Peter & Paul Catholic Church, Towanda, officiating. The family suggests that contributions may be directed to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, PO Box 1000 Dept. 142, Memphis, TN 38101-9908 or to the Wounded Warrior Project, 4899 Belfort Road, Suite 300, Jacksonville, FL 32256 in Mary Lou Otto’s memory.
