      Richard "Dick" DenBleyker, 88, of Spring Street, Phoenix, died Wednesday, Feb. 11, 2004.

      Born in Phoenix, he was a son of Neil DenBleyker and Viola Cox. He attended Phoenix High School. After school he was employed at Woolen and Silk Mills in Fulton and served in the Army in Africa, Europe, Italy, Normandy, Belgium and Holland with the 2nd Armored Division with General Patton.

      After the war, he opened Dick’s Gulf Service Station in Phoenix and retired in 1977.

      He was a member of the First Congregational Church, charter member of VFW Post #5540, life member of the Horning Fournier American Legion Post #418, member of Callimachus Masonic Lodge #369 F&AM, Oswego River Chapter Royal Arch Masons, C.N.Y. Rod and Gun Club, and the Phoenix Rod and Gun Club.

      He was pre-deceased by three brothers, Neil, Kenneth and Donald; and one sister, Doris Frank.

      Surviving are his wife of 57 years, FauntaBelle "Skeets" DenBleyker; sons, Richard M. (Sally) DenBleyker of Phoenix and Daniel W. (Catherine) DenBleyker of Thorton, Colo.; daughters, Patricia A. (Gerd) Henjes of Liverpool, Susan M. Caltabiano of Cicero, and Cynthia J. (Richard) Burton of Phoenix; sister, Norma Jean Brooks of Phoenix; and grandchildren, Diana Nicholson, Erich Henjes, Joseph Caltabiano, Gina Caltabiano, Amy Lamphere, Natan DenBleyker, Matthew DenBleyker, Jacqueline DenBleyker; and a great-granddaughter, Alivia Lamphere.

      Services were held Sunday at the First Congregational Church in Phoenix. Rev. Lauri J. Craig officiated. Spring burial will be in Phoenix Rural Cemetery.
