    • Newspaper Obituary - March 13, 1929 Pulaski Democrat - Pulaski, New York - Andrew Price, 61, died at his home in Port street, this village, late last Saturday afternoon following a cerebral hemorrhage which he had suffered early in the morning of the day before. Mr. Price had been janitor at Pulaski Academy for the past six years and was at his duties there during the day Thursday. He was preparing to leave his home for the school building Friday morning when he suffered the attack from which he never recovered. Mr. Price was born in the south part of the town of Richland, October 13, 1867, a son of Jackson and Saphrona Price. His home had been in the Willis district until he came to Pulaski to live about six years ago when he became a janitor at the academy. Prior to that time, for some 14 years, he had been a gardener at Douglaston Manor, the country home of the late Mr. and Mrs. Harry A, Moody, on the Port road. His earlier years were spent in the operation of the farm in the Willis district. He was successful as a farmer and later as landscape gardener. The gardens and lawns at Douglaston under his management and care were most attractive and were often pointed out as the most beautiful in this vicinity. Under his care and management, also, the school grounds became a beauty spot. He was a man of refined nature, finding joy in his work on the lawns among the flowers and shrubbery. In his work at the academy he made many friends among the students and faculty and throughout the community he was highly esteemed. Mr. Price was a member of Pulaski Methodist church and Daysville Grange. He is survived by his widow, Alvira Leonard Price; one daughter, Mrs. Gerald Hager of Fernwood and one son, Claude, who lives on the Price farm in the Willis district; two grandsons, Owen and Donald Hager; one granddaughter, Evelyn Price; one brother, William Price, Daysville and one sister, Mrs. Clayton Ingersol of this village. The funeral was held yesterday afternoon at 1:30 at the home and 2:00 from the Methodist church. Rev. Charles Bollinger officiating. Burial in Willis cemetery. The academy was closed during the afternoon.
