      Elnora M. Rood, 90, of Springbrook Apartments, died Thursday at Oswego Hospital.

      Miss Rood retired in 1973 after 44 years in hospital service. She was the first registrar and first admissions officer for Crouse Irving Memorial Hospital, Syracuse, establishing its first admissions office. When the two hospitals (Crouse and Irving) merged she was in charge of the office of registration. She previously had worked for 12 years at Albany Hospital.

      Born April 19, 1911, in the town of Parish, daughter of William H. and Addie L. Hubbard Rood, she graduated from Pulaski Academy High School in 1928, and attended Albany State College. Miss Rood lived in Albany from 1930 to 1942, then lived in Syracuse and moved to Pulaski in 1973.

      She was a member of Park United Methodist Church, past member of Pulaski Civic Club, past member of United Methodist Women, member of Retired Senior Volunteer program of Pulaski, member and past noble grand of Silver Star Rebekah Lodge, Mexico, and past president of Berwald Concert Singers.

      Surviving are four sisters, Orla R. Skinner, Pulaski, Laura James, Syracuse, Nellie Pearson, Parish, and Annamae Reed, LaFayette; a brother, Charles F. Rood, Spring Hill, Fla., and several nieces and nephews.

      Two brothers, Holland and William Rood, died before her.

      The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Monday at Park United Methodist Church with the Rev. Dorothy Emblidge officiating. Burial will be in Maplelawn Cemetery, Dugway. There will be no calling hours.

      Arrangements are with Foster- Hax Funeral Home.
