      Newspaper Obituary - Thursday, January 19, 1956 Pulaski Democrat - Pulaski, New York - Rites Held For David P. Rogers - David P. Rogers, 78, died Sunday afternoon at his home in Lake Street following a long illness. Services were held from the Foster Funeral Home Wednesday at 2 p.m. with the Rev. W. Russell Clark, pastor of the Methodist Church officiating. Interment was in Willis cemetery. Surviving are a daughter, Miss Constance Rogers at home, a teacher of sixth grade at Pulaski Academy and Central School; a son, Lieutenant Commander Eugene Ordway, Naval Air Base, Guantanamo Bay, Cuba; a brother, Garfield A. Rogers of Hastings; a sister, Mrs. Edith Hendrickson of Danville, Pennsylvania; a sister-in-law, Mrs. Hannah Rogers of Milton, Pennsylvania; three grandchildren, Karen, Eugene Jr., and David Ordway; several nieces and nephews. Mr. Rogers was born May 27, 1877 at Catasauqua, Pennsylvania, the son of William and Annie Richards Rogers. He came to Pulaski in 1901 and worked for the L. J. Fainterr nursery until 1906 when he became foreman of the New York Central out of Parish for eight years. In 1916 he purchased a farm on the Old Mexico road which he operated until eight years ago when he retired and moved to his present home in Lake Street. He was united in marriage to Miss Helen Burr December 18, 1902, who died December 19, 1929. He was a member of the Methodist Church and the Pulaski Masonic Lodge.
