    • Newspaper Article - Thursday, April 13, 1882 Pulaski Democrat - Pulaski, New York - Another Wedding - Another marriage is yet to be chronicled in the last week's weddings, that of Mr. John W. Richards to Miss E. Addie Jones, youngest daughter of Mr. Lucius Jones, the well-known dry goods merchant. The ceremony took place shortly after four o'clock, Wednesday afternoon at the residence of the bride's parents, on Broad street. The house was darkened and brilliantly illuminated, and in the parlors about sixty guests were assembled. Among those from out of town may be mentioned: Mr. and Mrs. G. A. Davis, of Mexico; Dr. E. B. Hopkins, of Mexico; Mr. Frank Woodbury and Belle Butler, of Orwell; Mr. Mrs. William Ellsworth of Woodville; Mr. William Jones and Miss Emma Jones, of Camden At the hour appointed for the ceremony, the bride and groom came into the room preceded by the ushers, Messrs. S. C. Huntington, Jr., and George Bentley, while Miss Nellie Ingersoll played the wedding march on the piano. Rev. G. Kenney, assisted by Rev. H. Skeel, pronounced the beautiful and impressive ceremony of the M. E. Church, which united the twain as man and wife. The newly wedded that received the congratulations of their numerous relatives and friends, after which they left on their bridal tour. The presents were of great variety and comprised many useful as well as ornamental once. Among them may be mentioned the following: Pair solid gold that can brings; silk quilt; photo album; silver ice pitcher; set of crystal; transparency of Garfield; pair vases; pair cut glass toilet bottles; oil painting; off white porcelain plaque; crystal sauce dish; large lamp; set silver fruit knives; tablespoon; poems by Frances Ridley Havergal; John Eax, by Judge Tourgee; card case and a box of calling cards; silver and crystal card case and bouquet holder; silver and crystal berry dish; 1 doz. solid silver teaspoon; 1 1/2 doz. silver knives; berry spoon, gold lined; gravy spoon; cream spoon; sugar spoon; mustard spoon; utter knife; set majolica ware; white painted satin feathered edge fan; solid silver butter knife; stuffed and mounted duck; carving knife and fork, rest and steel; silver sugar bowl, cream butter, spoon holder, syrup cup; silver pickle castor; silver and crystal butter dish; two silver cake baskets; silver bouquet holder; satin and plush pin cushion and nickel teapot; rocking chair; wax wreath and cross; $25 cash.

    • Katherine A. Richards, 90

      Katherine A. Richards, age 90 of 726 Sumner St., Syracuse , formerly of Pulaski, died Friday, March 21 at the Van Duyn Home and Hospital in Syracuse.

      She was born June 12, 1889, daughter of John and Adele Jones Richards. Graduating from Syracuse University in 1906, she taught in the Pulaski Academy English Department for several years. She later taught on Long Island.

      After retiring, she moved to Syracuse and for years was a receptionist at Simms Hall, Syracuse University.

      Miss Richards was a member of the Park Presbyterian Church of

      Survived by one sister, Olive G. Richards of Syracuse.

      Funeral services were held at 1 p.m. Monday at the Foster Hax Funeral Home, Pulaski with the Rev. Dolen Morris, Pastor of the Park United Methodist Church officiating.

      Burial will be in the Richards Family Plot in the Pulaski Cemetery.
