    • ADAMS - The funeral for Robert W. Richardson, 63, Adams, formerly of Pulaski, will be at 8 p.m. Tuesday at Foster-Hax Funeral Home, Pulaski, with the Rev. Mona L. Fargo officiating.

      Mr. Richardson died Friday at Samaritan Medical Center, Watertown.

      Calling hours will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.

      He was employed by Rod's Big M market for several years. He had resided in Adams since 1965, previously living in Pulaski.

      Born Dec. 31, 1944, in Pulaski, son of Robert W. and Genevieve F. Robinson Richardson, he attended schools in Pulaski and Adams Center.

      He volunteered with many area organizations, including the Miss New York State pageant for 35 years, and was honored as Volunteer of the Year by the pageant in 2001. He also had been named Number One Sports Fan for South Jefferson Central School and had assisted at Booster Club activities for several years. Many years ago he served as Spartans basketball manager under varsity boys' coach Tony Lephart and had volunteered at various other sports events.

      He assisted the South Jefferson Chamber of Commerce during special functions, including the Arbor Day Festival and Old-Fashioned Bargain Days, and was honored by the chamber this year with a tree planted in his honor during the Arbor Day Festival.

      While in Watertown, he volunteered for the Irish Festival and Bravo Italiano Festival, and assisted with the Muscular Dystrophy telethon held annually on Labor Day weekend and the Meals on Wheels program.

      While living in Pulaski he helped with the Ringgold Firemen's Field Days.

      Surviving are two sisters and their husbands, Sandra and Jerry Bradley, Pierrepont Manor, and Betty and John Wesley Webb, Lake George and Punta Gorda, Fla.; a brother and his wife, Kevin and Susan Richardson, Watertown, an aunt and several nieces and nephews.
