      Newspaper Obituary - June 3, 2013 Syracuse Post-Standard - Syracuse, New York - Terry E. DeShane, age 71, resident of Syracuse since 1964, formerly of Richland, passed away Saturday at Rosewood Heights Nursing Home in Syracuse. Terry was born October 22, 1941 in Knoxville, Tennessee. He graduated from Pulaski High School in 1959 and he served in the United States Air Force. Terry was employed by Cooper Industries, formerly Crouse Hinds, for 40 years, retiring in 2004. He also tended bar at the Loop Grill in Syracuse for the past nine years. Terry was a member of the Robert Edwards American Legion Post #358 in Pulaski and the NRA. He was a former member of the Richland Fire Department. Terry was also an avid SU fan. Surviving: one son, Vincent DeShane and his companion, Jennifer Maples of Amsterdam, New York; two daughters, Amanda (Carmelo) Serra of Amsterdam, New York and Ann (Daniel) Thompson of Johnstown, New York; one grandson, Jonah DeShane and one granddaughter, Sofia DeShane. A memorial service will be held I p.m. Thursday at the Foster-Hax Funeral Home, 52 Park Street, Pulaski with burial in Richland Cemetery. A calling hour will be held from noon to 1 p.m. prior to the funeral. Donations in Terry's memory can be made to the Richland Fire Department, Richland, New York 13144.
