    • PULASKI- Mrs. Olive L. Joyner, 69, of Richland died Tuesday at Marcy State Hospital after a long illness.

      Born March 18, 1897 in Memphis, she was the wife of the late Channie O. Joyner, killed in an automobile accident Jan 10, 1962 [inc 1963], near Sandy Creek.

      She had resided in the Sandy Creek-Lacona area most of her life.

      She is survived by a daughter. Mrs. Irving (Doris) Whaley of Richland; five grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; two sisters, Mrs Elbro (Ada) Hall and Mrs. Archit (Ethel) Corden, both of Mattydale; two brothers, Glenn and Clinton Smith of West Monroe.

      Services will be at 2 p. m. Friday at the Foster Funeral Home, the Rev Nelson Reppert, pastor of Highland Methodist Church, officiating. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery, Pulaski.

      Friends may call 7 to 9 tonight at the funeral home

      Mrs. Joyner, 69, Dies August 16

      Mrs. Olive L. Joyner, 69 died Aug. 16, 1966 in Marcy hospital. She was the widow of Chauncey (Channie) Joyner and lived most of her life in the Lacona-Sandy Creek area.

      She was born March 16, 1897 in Memphis, N.Y., a daughter of Judson and Margaret Van Valkenburg Smith. She was married to Mr. Joyner Feb. 28, 1917. He died Jan. 10, 1962.

      She is survived by one daughter, Mrs. Irving (Doris) Whaley, Richland, by five grandchildren and four greatgrandchildren; two sisters, Mrs. Albro (Ada) Hall and Mrs. Archie (Ethel) Gordon of Mattydale; two brothers, Glenn Smith and Clinton Smith, West Monroe.

      Her funeral will be held at 2 p.m. Friday at the Foster Funeral Home in Pulaski. The Rev. Nelson Reppert of Orwell will officiate. Burial will be in Riverside cemetery, Pulaski. Calling hours for friends are Thursday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
