    • Newspaper Obituary - Thursday, August 30, 1860 Pulaski Democrat - Pulaski, New York - Jefferson County - F. F. Armitage was killed by lightning, at Dexter, a few days since.

      Newspaper Obituary - August 21, 1860 Northern New York Journal - Watertown, New York - Struck By Lightning - A young man named F. F. Armitage, was instantly killed at Dexter yesterday by a stroke of lightning. Mr. A. , was a worthy young man 24 years of age.

      Newspaper Obituary - August 30, 1860 New York Informer - Watertown, New York - Killed By Lighting - During the thunder and hail storm which passed over this section last week Monday, two men, a Mr. Armitage and a Mr. Barber, were engaged at work in a cellar raising a building by means of iron jack screws at Dexter, a bolt of lightning struck the upper part of the building, passed down the iron rods, and killed Mr. Armitage instantly and injuring Mr. Barber severly. Mr. Armitage was about 33 (~23) years of age, an honest, industrious, well to do mechanice, an much respected by all who knew him. He leaves a wife and two small children to mourn his loss.
