      Carl A. Kling, 82, Springbrook Apartments, former owner of a gas station and Buick franchise here for many years, died Saturday evening at the Harr-Wood Nursing Home, Oswego, after a long illness.

      The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the Foster-Hax Funeral Home, with Rev. David B. Allport, grandson of Mr. Kling, officiating. Burial will be in Pulaski Cemetery.

      There are no calling hours. Contributions may be made to Park United Methodist Church or Northern Oswego County Ambulance.

      Surviving are his wife, Evelyn L.; a daughter, Mrs. Betty A. Bond, Lacona; five grandchildren, and five great-grandchildren.

      A son, Walter C., died in November 1981.

      Born in Foreston, Minn., on Feb. 2, 1906, a son of Jacob and Mary Lemmerman Kling, he moved to Pulaski with his family at age 13 and was graduated from Pulaski High School.

      Mr. Kling owned and operated a gas station and Buick franchise in Pulaski for several years. He was later employed as a school bus driver for Pulaski Central School and as a machinist for Nolan Machinery Co.

      He married Evelyn L. Draper Sept. 1, 1925, in Watertown.

      Mr. Kling was a past member and fire chief for 10 years of the Ringgold Fire Department. He was also a member of the Rod and Gun Club and a former member of the Masons and Odd Fellows.
