      Verda E. Will, 90, of Camden died Sunday April 5, 2020 at The Grand Nursing Home, Rome. She was born December 5, 1929 in Little France, New York the daughter of Glenn W. and Ina Weldon House. She graduated from SUNY Plattsburg in 1949. On August 6, 1949 she married Robert F. Will in Parish, NY. He died October 16, 2002.

      Verda taught Home Economics for Camden Middle School for many years. She was also a long term substitute and taught sewing in Adult Education in Camden and at the Migrant Camps. She was very active in the Oneida County Cooperative Extension for many years. Verda and her husband started and led the Hillsboro Cracker Jacks 4-H Club. In 1955 Verda and Robert started the Will’s Cackleberry Castle Pumpkin Farm, which grew from a small roadside stand selling eggs and vegetables into a very well-known fall regional attraction.

      After retiring from school teaching in 1988 she and Robertworked as volunteers at Upstate Medical Center for many years. Verda was a vivacious lady, always teaching and mentoring the younger folks whether at work or play.

      The family would like to acknowledge the wonderful help and support Verda received over the many years from the late Doris Littler, and Richard and Sharon Norton.

      She is survived by her two sons and daughters-in-law, Alan and Rashelle Will, Las Vegas, NV and John and Barbara Will, Pleasanton, CA; two daughters and sons-in-law, Carol and Bill Sullivan, Sterling, MA and Anne and Al Finkelstein, Rutland, MA; a sister-in-law, Winnie House; eight grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by three brothers and sister-in-lawEdsonand Laura House, Glenn House and Ray House; three sisters and brothers-in-law Neva and Bill Rupracht, Edith and Orly Howard and Dora and Otto Howard.

      Memorial services will be held at the convenience of the family. There are no calling hours. Burial will be in Hillside Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Carriage House Museum, 2 North Park Street, Camden, New York 13316. Arrangements are entrusted to Prince-Boyd & Hyatt Home For Funerals, Inc., 210 W. Court Street, Rome, New York.
