    • Newspaper Obituary - April 3, 1946 Sandy Creek News - Sandy Creek, New York - R. J. Sanderson Fatally Injured - Raymond J. Sanderson, 65, suffered fatal injuries about 1:50 A. M. Sunday when he was struck by a car driven by Melvin D. Nemier, 19, of Sandy Creek, in Port Street just outside of Pulaski. Dr. A. B. Thompson, Pulaski, Informed Investigating officers that death resulted from a fractured skull and internal injuries. The accident was investigated by Troopers William F. Wheeler and Donald Murphy of Pulaski substation, and later by Assistant District Attorney James C. Feeney of Mexico and Trooper Earl Fogarty of the BCI. At the conclusion of the preliminary examination, Feeney stated' that there had been no criminal negligence. According .to the investigation of Feeney, Sanderson had left the village early Sunday morning to stay at the home of friends on the Port rd. He was accompanied by a friend, Seward Nutting, 79, who was going to the home of his son, Arthur Nutting, also on the Port rd. Nemier was driving east and failed to see Sanderson as he rounded a curve near the village line. Sanderson was hurled: against Nutting who suffered injuries to the right hand and shock. Nemier stopped Immediately and passing motorists notified the troopers. Mr. Sanderson was born in the town of Bolyston Sept. 27, 1890, the son of the late James D. and Addie Huffstater Sanderson. He was a farmer and had spent most of his life in the vicinity of Pulaski. At the present time he had a farm on Tinker Tavern road, five miles south of Pulaski. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Myra Hilton Sanderson; two daughters, Mrs. Edna White, Syracuse, and Miss Irene Sanderson, Pulaski; two sons, Robert and Stanley Sanderson, Pulaski; three brothers, Fred of Syracuse, Charles of North Syracuse, and Ralph Sanderson. Long Island, and three grandchildren. Funeral services were hold at 2 p. m. Tuesday at the Taylor funeral home by Rev. James N. Pauley of the Methodist church. Burial was in Willis cemetery, Fernwood.
