    • Dick's story - Richard Thomas "Dick" Brennan, 82, of Vero Beach, Florida and formerly of Pulaski, peacefully passed away surrounded by his family on February 21, 2017.
      Dick was born in Boylston, NY, on October 20, 1934, the eldest child of John J. and Elsie (Ingersoll) Brennan.
      He graduated high school from Sandy Creek Central School, received his Civil Engineering Degree from Ohio University in Athens, OH, and was employed 20 years as a highway engineer by the New York State Department of Transportation, in Syracuse, NY.
      Dick was the founder, builder and manager of Brennan Beach RV Resort on Lake Ontario, which he operated for more than 50 years. During that time, the resort grew under his direction to a population of more than 2,000 summer residents each year.
      He recently reached a goal in his later life, with the publishing of his memoirs regarding the development of the Beach, titled "Dick's Great Adventure: From Rags to Riches Without Leaving Oswego County".
      He was predeceased by his parents, as well as by a daughter, Laurie Brennan, in her infancy.
      Mr. Brennan is survived by Trilby Aldrich Brennan, his wife of 41 years, as well as five children: Valerie Brennan Pendergast (Austin, TX); Timothy (Mary Ann Brown) Brennan (Ocala, FL); Michael (Sabina Koehner) Brennan (Mannsville, NY); Richard (Bethann Frank) Brennan (Pulaski, NY); and Michelle Brennan Workman (Pulaski, NY). He is also survived by three stepsons: Edward (Jasmine Hesse) Hillenbrand and Eric Hillenbrand of Pulaski, and Karl Hillenbrand of Indianapolis, IN. Mr. Brennan in also survived by 19 grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren, 2 sisters (Virginia Brennan Pelsue of Syracuse and Judith Brennan Kaiser of Homerville, OH) and one brother, John C. (Maureen McKenna) Brennan, of Vero Beach, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
      A memorial celebration in honor of his life and many contributions to the community will be held in Pulaski in the spring.
