    • Newspaper Obituary - Wednesday, June 7, 1899 Pulaski Democrat - Pulaski, New York - Ephriam Parker Potter - Tuesday morning, May 30, Mr. Ephriam Parker Potter died at his home in Lacona, at the age of sixty-five years and seven months, after a long struggle with paralysis. Mr. Potter was a native of the town of Orwell, a son of Green and Ann Potter. He had been a resident of Orwell for many years and was prominently identified with the interests of the town. He was in the 24th regiment in the war of the rebellion, where he served his country faithfully and well. He had been a careful manager of his business affairs and leaves a handsome fortune to his wife, son and one grandson. Mr. Potter was a devout Mason, a member of Sandy Creek lodge, F. and A.M., and of the O.E.S., of the village; also of Pulaski chapter, R.A.M. He was a person of strong convictions, and always spoke his mind when he felt like it. His worst side was never held back for a better time to show it. He wished to be understood as he was at heart, frank and outspoken. The funeral was held on Friday afternoon at 1:30 o'clock at the house, and at the M. E. church at 2 o'clock. Pulaski chapter, R.A.M.; Sandy Creek lodge, F. and A.M.; members of Sandy Creek and Pulaski chapters, O. E. S., and the Lacona fire department, attended in a body. Rev. T. T. Davies, pastor of the Congregational church at Sandy Creek, assisted by Rev. C. L. Peck, conducted the service.
