    • Newspaper Obituary - Monday, October 20, 1969 The Palladium Times - Oswego, New York - One-Car Accident - Pulaski Youth County's 18th Highway Fatality - Pulaski - James Lyle Burns, 17, of 7364 Port Street, was killed about 1:30 p.m. Saturday when his car left a village street here and struck a tree, State Police said. He was Oswego County's 18th highway accident victim of the year. Burns was pronounced dead at the scene near Windcrest Drive by Dr. A. B. Thompson, who said death was due to multiple injuries. He was appointed coroner's physician by Assistant District Attorney Robert Nicholson, who acted as coroner. Investigating state police said that Burns was southbound on the Hinman Road when his car skidded after just entering the village limits, going off the right shoulder of the road and crashing broadside against a tree. The youth was ejected from his car. Investigating were Troopers Peter J. Laun and David J. Reidy of the local substation. Investigator Harlan L. Fox and Police Chief Wally Guay. Burns was born in Syracuse, September 24, 1952, son of Lyle and Catherine Kling Burns and attended local schools, living most of his life here. He was a clerk in the Sweet Supermarket. Surviving are his mother and stepfather, Mr. and Mrs. John Fish; his father, Lyle Burns of Richland; six sisters, Mrs. Anna Johnson of Richland, Misses Patricia and Adelaide Burns of Syracuse; Mrs. Carol Kinney of Richland; Mrs. Betty Woolson and Mrs. Bonnie Ridgeway both of Pulaski; two brothers, Michael Burns and Leroy Kling, both of Pulaski; a stepbrother, Melvin Fish of Phoenix, and several aunts and uncles. Services will be at 9 a.m. Tuesday at the Taylor-Vida Funeral Home and at 9:30 a.m. in St. John the Evangelist Church. Burial will be in South Richland Cemetery, Fernwood. The rosary will be said at 7:30 p.m. tonight at the funeral home. Calling hours will be 7 to 9 tonight.
