    • Newspaper Obituary - Friday, June 9, 1939 WilkesBarre Record - John Kennedy Dies Suddenly - Chef at Plymouth Legion Home Drops Dead after Heart Attack - John Kennedy, employed as a chef for Shawnee Post 463. American Legion, dropped dead last night at 9:15 in his home, 149 East Main Street. Plymouth. Deputy Coroner Charlee A. Fitzpatrick announced that his death was due to a heart attack. Mr. Kennedy who had been ill for two weeks planed to return to his duties at the Legion Home today. Shortly after a trip to a nearby store to purchase ice cream for his wife he collapsed while walking from the dining room to the kitchen. Dr. A. H. Gabriel, Plymouth, and Rev. P. A. Hopkins of St. Vincent’s Church were summoned but the man was dead upon their arrival at the Kennedy home. Surviving are his wife, three brothers, Thomas Kennedy. Avondale, and Eugene and William Kennedy, Larksville, and a sister, Mrs. John Tobin, St. Mary’s Road, Hanover Township. He was a member of St. Vincent’s Church. Plymouth and its Holy Name Society.
