    • Clark Morrison III, 84 and a resident of 64 Burden Drive Oswego and a summer resident of Brantingham, Lewis County, NY died Monday June 26, 2006 at St. Luke Health Services, Inc. Mr. Morrison was born in Oswego and was the son of the late Clark Jr. and Katherine McMurrich Morrison. He attended Oswego Schools and was graduated from Deerfield Academy class of 1940 and Colgate University class of 1943. Mr. Morrison served in the US Navy from 1944 -1947 in the Pacific Theatre and attained the rank of Lieutenant (jg).He started his journalism career as the Fulton correspondent for the Oswego Palladium Times and in 1948 joined the staff of the Watertown Daily Times. In 1953 he left Watertown as state editor to join his father and Mr. Clarence Leighton at the Oswego Palladium Times where he became Editor and Publisher following his father's death in 1957.He was the third Morrison to be owner, editor and publisher of the combined Oswego Times and Oswego Palladium. Mr. Morrison sold the Palladium Times to Thomson Newspapers in 1967 and remained editor and publisher until his retirement in 1980. On December 20, 1948 he married Joan Hubbs Graham daughter of the late David R. and Marion Hubbs Graham in Oswego. Mr. Morrison served on the Board of Education during the 1950's and served 29 years on the Port of Oswego Authority. Mr. Morrison had been a scratch golfer and was a life member of the Oswego Country Club and served as President in 1961. His grandfather J.B. McMurrich was a member of the original group of Oswegonians that created the Oswego Country Club. He was an avid fly fisherman and traveled extensively to pursue this activity. In addition to wife Mr. Morrison is survived by one daughter Nancy (Charles) Zysk of Lysander, three sons Clark (Cecily) Morrison IV of Oswego, Graham McM (Kathy) Morrison of Carpentersville, Il .and David (Tamara) Morrison of Eagle, CO., one brother John Morrison of Bethesda, Maryland, 2neices and 2 nephews. He was known as "Bompop" to his six grandchildren Christopher Zysk, Katelyn Morrison, Lauren Morrison, Collin Morrison, Carlee Morrison and Jonathon Clark Morrison. He was predeceased by a sister Barbara M. Thorton who died in 1980. Friends are encouraged to join Mr. Morrison's family for graveside committal services at Riverside Cemetery on Wed. July 19 at 12 Noon where Rev. James Tshcudy will officiate. During this Memorial celebration of Clark's life the family is hopeful that friends will participate by sharing memories of Clark. There are no calling hours. Arrangements are by the Dain-Cullinan Funeral Home.
