      Newspaper Obituary - Wednesday, January 23, 1901 Pulaski Democrat - Pulaski, New York - Death of Mrs. Erskine - After weeks of suffering, Elizabeth A., wife of Mr. Lafayette Erskine, died at her home in this village, last Wednesday morning. Mrs. Erskine has lived considerable of her life in this village and her death is a shock to a large circle of friends as well as the family so painfully afflicted. She was converted to the Christian faith in the old M. E. church of this village and soon became a member of the Pulaski church which relation she has ever held. She was a woman of many beautiful traits and won devoted friends wherever she lived. She has resided at Richland and New Haven the past few years, returning to Pulaski last fall. While a resident of Richland she was one of the faithful contributors to the columns of the Democrat and by her presence at the annual gatherings made by herself much loved by the corps of writers. Her funeral was held at the M. E. church last Friday. Burial at McClellan cemetery, Fernwood. She is survived by her husband and two daughters, Mrs. W. M. Wilder of this place and Mrs. Grace Donaldson, of Rochester, New York.

      Newspaper Obituary - Wednesday, January 30, 1901 Pulaski Democrat - Pulaski, New York - Fernwood - The body of Mrs. Lafayette Pierce kind was brought to the East Fernwood Cemetery for burial, January 15th. Messrs. C. R. Erskine, C. A. Norris, C. E. Barnes and M. M. Barnard, all of Fernwood, were her bearers. They brought her back so near her old home where your correspondent first met her and in the years that came and went learned to love her. She was of a quiet, unobtrusive nature. One must meet her in close relationship to know her well. A Christian woman and a lover of all good words and deeds, for such as she are "the gates ajar."
