    • Syracuse Herald-Journal NY, 16 Oct 1940: "Edgar M. Becker. Rites for Edgar M. Becker, 80-year-old Town of Clay farmer, who was found dead in bed Tuesday morning at his home in the Caughdenoy-Syracuse Road, will be conducted at the home at 2 PM Friday. Burial will be in Pine Plains Cemetery. Mr. Becker was born on the farm where he died. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Maude Becker; a son, Glenn Becker; two daughters, Mrs. John Parker of Brewerton and Miss Lyda Becker of Syracuse; three sisters, Mrs. Clara Horr of Brewerton, Mrs. Anna Ackland and Mrs. John Latter of Syracuse, and seven grandchildren."
