    • Newspaper Article - Thursday, November 23, 1882 Pulaski Democrat - Pulaski, New York - Another wedding will take place in this village next Wednesday. We refer to the approaching nuptials of Mr. Samuel Mattison, of Sand Bank, to Miss Allie Richardson, of Pulaski. The ceremony will be performed by Rev. Robert Paul at St. James Church.

      Newspaper Article - Thursday, December 7, 1882 Pulaski Democrat - Pulaski, New York - The Merry Wedding Bells - Marriage of Mr. S. E. Mattison to Miss Alice M. Richardson - St. James church was crowded Wednesday afternoon by the many friends of Miss Alice M. Richardson to witness her marriage to Mr. Samuel E. Mattison, of Sand Bank. At promptly five o'clock the bridal party arrived and took their places before the altar, Miss Sophia Mattison, sister of the groom, playing the wedding march. Miss Libbie Clark acted as bridesmaid, Mr. John Mattison as groomsman. The ushers were Messrs. James H. Betts, Fred Sharp, Eddie Clark and Frank Hohman. The bride was attired in a rich costume of pure white and presented a lovely appearance. Rev. Robert Paul, rector of St. James, performed the beautiful and impressive ceremony of the Episcopal Church, the bride being given away by her father, Mr. George Richardson. The bride and groom left on the evening train for Niagara Falls, and will spend some time visiting friends in the western part of the state. The presents were numerous, elegant and costly, and among them we enumerate the following: Two dozen and a half silver knives and forks; one and one-half dozen silver forks; two dozen silver spoons; pair silver pepper boxes; pair gold lined salt dishes and spoons; silver cake basket; two silver pickle casters; silver spoon holder; gold lined silver creamer, silver dinner castor; silver jelly dish; silver berry dish; pair silver napkin rings; set silver fruit knives; set silver nut picks and nut cracker; 1 dozen dinner napkins; 3 tidies; pair slippers; silver sugar bowl; silver butter dish and knife; painting; 2 toilet cases; gold necklace; gold bracelets; gold banded china chamber set; large album; a quantity of bedding; plush hand grip; 2 silver perfumery stands; canary bird and cage; silver cheese dish; pair bouquet holders, etc.

    • Newspaper Obituary - July 23, 1941 Sandy Creek News - Sandy Creek, New York - Mrs. S. G. Mattison - Mrs. Alice Richardson Mattison, widow of Samuel G. Mattison, and life resident of Altmar, died at her home Sunday night, July 20, 1941 after an illness of six months. Mrs. Mattison was born at Pulaski, Sept. 27, 1862, a daughter of George and Mary Dewey Richardson, and moved to Altmar as a girl. She was a member of St. John's Episcopal church, the Church guild, and was a charter member of Richland Rebekah lodge, Altmar as well as a member of Altmar grange. She is survived by two sisters, Mrs. Frank Lounsberry of Los Angeles and Miss G. W. Betts of Pulaski; a brother, Joseph Richardson of Los Angeles; four grandchildren, Samuel, Albert and Richard Mattison of Altmar and Mrs Earl Potter of Altmar; four great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Serivces were held at the home at 2 today. Burial was in Riverside Cemetery.

      Newspaper Obituary - July 24, 1941 Pulaski Democrat - Pulaski, New York - Mrs. Alice Mattison Dies At Altmar - Funeral services for Mrs. Alice Richardson Mattison, 78, of Altmar were held from the home yesterday afternoon. Mrs. Mattison died Sunday night after an illness of several months. She was born at Pulaski Sept. 27, 1862, a daughter of George and Mary Dewey Richardson, and moved to Altmar as a girl. She was a member of Altmar Grange, Richland Rebekah Lodge, St. John's Episcopal Church and the Church Guild. Suriving are two sisters, Mrs. Frank Lounsberry of Los Angeles and Mrs. G. W. Betts of Pulaski; a brother, Joseph Richardson of Los Angeles; five grandchildren, Samuel, Albert, Richard and Frances of Altmar and Mrs. Earl Potter, also of Altmar; four great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Burial was in Riverside cemetery.
