    Raymond E. Cornwell, 91, formerly of Pulaski, died Tuesday at St. Luke's Nursing Home, Oswego.

    Mr. Cornwell was employed by Church & Dwight in Solvay from 1967 until retiring in 1982. He also owned and operated Richland Auto Parts for many years. He had resided in the Pulaski-Richland area for 54 years, moving to Oswego in 2001.

    Born Feb. 25, 1915, in Ellisburg, son of George and Ethel Price Cornwell, he attended Mannsville schools and served in the Army from 1941 to 1945.

    He married Josephine M. Sidari on Dec. 27, 1947.

    Surviving besides his wife are a son, Raymond A., Richland; two daughters, Virginia M. Lund, Oswego, and Kathleen J. Ramos, Corpus Christi, Texas; two sisters, Jessie Place, Syracuse, and Rena Clark, Ellisburg, eight grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

    A daughter, Susan E. Benavidez, died Nov. 21, 1978.

    The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Foster-Hax Funeral Home with the Rev. Marilyn Stevens officiating. Burial will be in Richland Cemetery.

    Calling hours will be from noon to 2 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.

    Josephine M. Cornwell, age 93, resident of Oswego, formerly of Richland, passed away Sunday at Oswego Hospital. Josephine was born April 30, 1919 in Syracuse, the daughter of Carmen and Virginia Glemi Sidari. She married Raymond E. Cornwell on December 27, 1947, he passed away June 13, 2006. She and her husband owned and operated Richland Auto Parts for many years. Josephine was a member of Christ Our Light Parish in Pulaski.

    Surviving, one son, Raymond A. (Kim) Cornwell of Richland; two daughters, Virginia M. (Todd) Lund of Oswego and Kathleen J. (Ernest) Ramos of Corpus Christi, TX; eight grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. Josephine was predeceased by one daughter, Susan Benavidez who passed away November 21, 1978.

    Funeral services will be held at noon Thursday at Christ Our Light Parish, 23 Niagara Street, Pulaski with a spring burial in Richland Cemetery. Calling hours will be held from 10 to 11:30 a.m. prior to the funeral at the Foster-Hax Funeral Home, 52 Park Street, Pulaski.

    Born July 4. 1906 in Plattsburg to Loren and Julia Depo Gadway. he attended school in Schuyler Falls. He and his late wife, the former Anna R. McKinstry, were married Dec. 14. 1946. in Syracuse. where they resider, until 1970.
    He was an Army veteran of World War IL having served with the Corps of Engineers in the Sicilian. Italian. French, Moroccan. Algerian and Tunisian campaigns.
    He retired in 1968 as a bus driver for the Syra-cuse Transit Co.
    Surviving are a son, Charles Jr.. of Richland: two daughters. Mrs. Cleo Bacon of Florida and Mrs. James Snow of Clay: a foster daughter, Dorothy of Morrisonville: five step-daughters and two stepsons: three brothers. Halsey of Peru. and Arthur and Clifford. both of Arizona: eight grandchildren; a great-grandMild: and several nieces and nephews and cousins.
    Services were held Nov. 25, 1980 in Taylor-Vida Funeral Home. the Rev. Dolen Morris officiating. Burial, with full military honors, was in Pulaski Cemetery.

Gareau, 51 of Rt. 11 died unexpectedly at his home Wednesday, May 5 after suffering a heart attack. He had been under care for a heart condition for several years. He was born April 4, 1920 at Malone, a son of Edward J. and Amelia LaPlante Gareau. He attended school in Malone and in 1941 entered the U.S. Army. Following his discharge in 1945 he moved to Fulton; where on January 10, 1948 was married to Norma Van Alstyne. They resided in Fulton until moving to Pulaski 1954. He was employed by Muench-Kreuze Candle Co. until his retirement. He was a member of Post 7289 VFW of Pulaski and was an ardent sportsman. Surviving are his wife, Norma Gareau; a daughter, Mrs. Charles (Delores) Gadway Jr of Altmar, a son Carl Gareau at home; a granddaughter; three brothers, Paul and Edward of Malone and Francis of Fulton; eight sisters, Mrs. Harry (Permila) Hungerford, Mrs. Frances (Evelyn) Brugeon, Mrs. Cleophus (Leona) Stone, Mrs. William (Pauline) Gregario, Mrs. Harold (Blanche) Learned, Mrs. Louis (Clarris) Sweet, all of Malone; Mrs. Byron (Aldona) Cable of Fulton, and Mrs. Daniel (Irma) Reindeau of Ft. Covington, several cousins, nieces and nephews. Funeral services were held Saturday, May 8 at the Taylor-Vida Funeral Home with the Rev.
