    Newspaper Obituary - Thursday, November 2, 1944 Pulaski Democrat - Pulaski, New York - Bidwell District - Charles Willis passed away Thursday at the Oswego hospital. He was a former resident of Fernwood, but after the death of his wife he came to this neighborhood to live with his son, Theodore. The funeral was held Sunday at the home of his son. Rev. Stanley Skinner of Williamstown, a former pastor, conducted the services. Mr. Willis leaves two daughters, Mrs. Clara Chorley of Parish and Mrs. Esther Fungan of Jackson Heights, and his son, Theodore Willis, with whom he lived.

    Newspaper Obituary - Thursday, December 6, 1928 Mexico Independent - Mexico, New York - Mrs. Louisa Learned Chadwick passed away Monday, March 11, after an illness of several months. She was born in the town of Richland November 20, 1870, the daughter of the late Lavillar Willis and Jennie House Willis. Besides her husband, she is survived by two daughters, Miss Blanche Learned, Syracuse, Mrs. Ralph Shumway, Geneseo, and one son Harry Learned, Syracuse; two sisters, Miss Elizabeth Willis and Mrs. Leverett Buck, Mexico; two brothers, Martin Willis of Mexico and Charlie Willis of Fernwood; three grandchildren, Jeanne Shumway and Janet and David Learned. The funeral was held at the house Wednesday afternoon. Interment in the Willis cemetery.

    Newspaper Obituary - February 15, 1883 Pulaski Democrat - Pulaski, New York - Died - Entered into rest on the morning of January 30th, 1883, Mattie, beloved and only daughter of L. M. and Emma Willis, of South Richland, aged 11 years and 7 months. The deceased had been a frail child from her infancy and fears has been entertained of her arriving at adult life, yet of late hope had been strengthened that Mattie might be spared to years of usefulness. Still death has robbed us of our treasure.

    NEW SMYRNA BEACH Esther W. Dungan, 82, of Lake Fairgreen Circle, a resident since 1980, died Sunday at Bert Fish Medical Center.
    Mrs. Dungan, a homemaker, was born in Fernwood, N.Y., and moved here from New York. She was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, where she was involved in many of the church's activities. She received a bachelors degree in education from the University of New York, Oswego, N.Y.
    Survivors include two sons, Terence, New Paltz, N.Y., and Timothy Dungan-Levant, East Calais, Vt.; and two grandchildren. Settle-Wilder, New Smyrna Beach, is in charge.

Ells, age 77, resident of Fernwood since 1950, died Friday, January 23 in a fire at her home on the Manwaring Road. She was born July 4, 1931 in Parish, the daughter of Theodore and Pearl Russell Willis. She graduated from Parish High School in 1949. She married Earl K. Ells on June 20, 1950, he died August 20, 1986. She and her husband operated a dairy and poultry farm for 44 years. She was also predeceased by her parents Theodore and Pearl Russell Willis and her sister Mary Owen. Surviving are one daughter, Phyllis (Larry) Fox of Pulaski; one grandson Michael (Theresa) Fix of Pulaski, two great-grandchildren Bridgette and Colby Fox; two sisters, Loretta (Wayne) Graham of Parish, Marion Willis of Sterling; one brother, William Willis of Central Square and several nieces and nephews. Graveside services will be held in the spring at South Richland Cemetery. Calling hours will be held from 2-4 Saturday, January 31, at the Foster-Hax Funeral Home, 52 Park Street, Pulaski. Donations may be made to the Ringgold Fire Department, Lake Street, Pulaski, 13142.
