    • Newspaper Article - Thursday, November 23, 1893 Pulaski Democrat - Pulaski, New York - New Haven - A November Wedding - Wednesday, November 15th was a day long to be remembered by the many friends of Miss Jessie Calkins of this place and Eugene R Wyman of Richland The weather was all that could be desired and the roads were complete. The spacious parlors of the bride's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Frank M. Calkins, were filled with invited guests from this and adjoining states. Guests from Sandy Creek, Ellisburg, Richland, Boylston, Albion, Pulaski, Daysville, Mexico, New Haven, Oswego and Syracuse, O. Bilyea and wife, of Walworth, Wisconsin, and Mrs. P. S. Calkins, of Chippewa Falls, Wisconsin. Rev. Chamberlain Phelps, of New Haven, conducted the bridal ceremonies in a very impressive and appropriate manner. The spacious parlors were decorated with evergreens and potted plants and flowers in profusion. Miss Phelps played the wedding march. S. W. Wyman, of Richland, and Frank Ransom, of Pulaski, acted his groomsmen, and Misses Mattie Calkins and Mame Ransom as bridesmaids. As to the wedding presents, we were led to believe that they had resumed special payment, from the display of silver, gold and greenbacks, to the amount of $100, from distant friends who could send money better than other gifts. Then there was the table, walls and floor of the apartment set aside for the gifts. A look in that direction Redfield a most magnificent variety of costly gifts, consisting of a silver tea set, two beautiful lamps, silver bonbon basket, knives, forks, cake baskets, spoons, castors. rocker, French cut glass, a beautiful silk quilt, cover lids, table linen, and other beautiful presents too numerous to mention. After looking over the contents of this room, we began to feel there was something wanting, and was asked to look into the dining room. Here we discovered there was nothing lacking that could tempt the appetite. After the pangs of hunger (which had been sharpened by the train being two hours late) have been satisfied and seventy guests had been served, the happy pair started amidst a shower of rice for their wedding trip, which included a visit to Syracuse, Buffalo and Niagara Falls.

Newspaper Article - Thursday, November 23, 1893 Pulaski Democrat - Pulaski, New York - Richland - Eugene Wyman and bride, formerly Miss Jessie Calkins, who were married in New Haven last Wednesday, came to Richland on Monday after a trip to Syracuse, Buffalo and elsewhere. The bride was dressed in heliotrope and white and looked very pretty indeed.
