- Newspaper Obituary - Thursday, September 10, 1952 Pulaski Democrat - Mrs. R. Sanderson Dies at Texas - Funeral services for Mrs. Florence Jones Sanderson, 60, wife of Roy Sanderson, who died at her home in Texas, Sunday evening, were conducted from the Methodist Church in Mexico, Wednesday at 2 p.m. by the Rev. Elwin Williams, pastor of the church. Interment was made in Pulaski Cemetery. Mrs. Sanderson had been ill several weeks. Surviving besides her husband are three sons, Steven Sanderson of the U. S. Marine Corps, stationed at the Lakehurst Air Base, N.J., Alan Sanderson of Texas and Ted Sanderson of Oswego; three daughters, Mrs. William Hogarth of Texas, Mrs. Helen New of Lafayette, and Mrs. Hazel West of Albuquerque, N. M.; and nine grandchildren. Mrs. Sanderson was born in Minetto, Aug. 18, 1893, daughter of Hollister and Harriet Wart Jones, and came to Pulaski when a child. She was a graduate of Pulaski Academy and training class and of the old Oswego State Normal School. She taught 12 years in the grade classes at Pulaski Academy and later in the Mexico Central School until last June.
