    • Newspaper Article - Thursday May 24, 1973 The Palladium Times - Oswego, New York - Open House To Honor Couple Wed 50 Years - Pulaski - Friends are invited to attend an open house, honoring Mr. and Mrs. Clifford Montondo, on their 50th wedding anniversary, at the Methodist Church House, from 2 to 5 p.m. Saturday. Mr. and Mrs. Anton (Betty) Evanchik and Mr. and Mrs. Donald (Barbara) McCumber are hosting the celebration.

      Newspaper Article - Saturday June 9, 1973 The Palladium Times - Oswego, New York - Party Honors Couple on 50th Anniversary - Pulaski - Mr. and Mrs. Clifford Montondo were honored at an open house, celebrating their Golden Wedding anniversary at the Park United Methodist Church House on May 26. Mrs. Montondo, the former Florence Wilder, daughter of the late Thomas Wilder, and Clifford Montondo, son of the late Walter Montondo, were married on May 28, 1923 at Sandy Creek by the Rev. W. J. Hart. Mrs. Hart and Cora Tifft witnessed the ceremony. The Montondo's have lived in Pulaski most of their married life, except for a few months when they resided in Auburn. Mr. Montondo retired about ten years ago from the City Service Station at Pulaski. Mr. and Mrs. Montondo are active members of the I.O.O.F and Rebeckas. Mr. Montondo was Deputy Commander, Canton, State of New York for six years and Mrs. Montondo is a member of the auxiliary of the state organization. They are also members of the Pulaski Grange, Cliff a past master and fifty-six year member, Florence a fifty year member. The Montondo's have two daughters, Mrs. Betty Evanschik, Plainview, Long Island, who has provided them with four grandchildren (three grandsons and one granddaughter.) Their second daughter is Mrs. Barbara McCumber of Rochester. About 100 friends attended the 50th wedding anniversary reception honoring the couple.

    • Newspaper Obituary - Watertown Daily Times (NY) - July 18, 2008 Watertown Daily Times - Watertown, New York - ELIZABETH J. EVANCHIK - PULASKI - Elizabeth J. "Betty" Evanchik, 83, Pulaski, died Wednesday at Loretto Heights Nursing Home, Oswego. Mrs. Evanchik was employed by Our Lady of Mercy School, Hicksville, for many years. Born April 20, 1925, in Pulaski, daughter of Clifford and Florence Wilder Montondo, she graduated from Pulaski Academy High School in 1943 and from Crouse Irving School of Nursing, Syracuse, in 1945. She resided in Pulaski until 1943, when she moved to Plainview and Queens. She returned to Pulaski in 1983. She married Anton Evanchik on May 30, 1948. He died Nov. 23, 1986. Mrs. Evanchik was a member of Park United Methodist Church, Pulaski. Surviving are two sons and their wives, Michael A. and Rosemary, Springfield, Va., and Stephen D. and Robin, Oswego; a daughter, Barbara J. Evanchik, Summit, N.J.; a daughter-in-law, Kathleen Evanchik, Mexico; a sister and her husband, Barbara Donald McCumber, Tennessee; 10 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. A son, William C., died April 27, 2006. The funeral will be at 1 p.m. Monday at Foster-Hax Funeral Home. Burial will be in Pulaski Cemetery. Calling hours will be from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Monday at the funeral home. Donations may be made to a charity of one's choice.
