  • Notes
    • Wesley All (Wes) was born July 13, 1944, in Lamar, Colorado, the son of John Dennis and Laura Olivia All. He died on Sunday, April 1, 2018, in Pendleton, Oregon, at the age of 73.

Wes served in the Navy on the U.S.S. Caliente from August 1961 to August 1965, and spent an additional four years in the Navy Seabees from August 1965 to August 1969, and was honorably discharged with eight years of Navy service.

Wes married Sandra Louise Shepard in January 1965. They had two sons: Patrick Christopher All, who passed away as an infant at a few days old; and a second son, James Lee All. Wes later married Nancy Carol Gammon on February 15, 1974, in Vancouver, Washington. Wes and Nancy had two children: Bonnie Elizabeth All and John Wesley All.

Wes completed high school while in the Navy. He later went for two terms to Walla Walla University. While married to Nancy, they moved from Portland to Milton-Freewater, Oregon, and later moved to Pendleton, Oregon, because of a job opportunity.

Wes worked at several jobs after discharge from the Navy. In 1973 he began truck driving for a window manufacturing firm in Portland, Oregon, driving an 18-wheeler to California, Oregon and Washington. Wes worked for Harris Pine Mills in Pendleton as a log truck driver for several years. In 1989 he began his own business as log truck owner-operator with his home base in Pendleton. Wes retired from truck driving in 1999 due to ill health.

Subsequently he began volunteer driving for the Oregon Department of Human Services in 2000 taking clients to doctor appointments in Portland, Spokane, Tri-Cities and Bend. Wes officially retired again in 2011.

Wes is survived by his wife of 44 years, Nancy All; sons James Lee All (age 47) and John Wesley All (37); daughter Bonnie Elizabeth All (39); grandsons Christopher All (19), Jack All (12), Wesley James All (13) and Jacob All (9); brother Ralph Leon All; sister Sandra Denise Lewis; and cousins, nephews and nieces.

Wes was preceded in death by his parents, John and Olivia All; a sister, Vera Mokshefski; and both sets of grandparents.

Wes enjoyed hunting, fishing and camping. He was a lifetime member of the Gold Prospectors Association of America since 2007. Wes was proud of his eight years in the Navy and always claimed his military service helped him navigate life in many ways. Wes always had a drive to do more, become more skillful, make a better living for his family that he was proud of and loved. He was a member of the American Legion for many years, and a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars. Wes was baptized into the Seventh-day Adventist Church in 1975, and his faith in God was strong. Wes taught Sabbath School as a member of the Pilot Rock SDA Church many years ago, and always considered Sabbath School his favorite part of church attendance.

There will be a funeral to honor Wesley on April 18, 2018, at 11 a.m. at the Pendleton Seventh-day Adventist Church, 1401 S.W. Goodwin Place, Pendleton, Ore. All Wes’ relatives, friends and neighbors are welcome to attend. Interment will be in Olney Cemetery thereafter.
