    • Newspaper Article - Wednesday, May 18, 1904 Pulaski Democrat - Pulaski, New York - Altmar - A very pretty wedding was solemnized at the home of Mrs. Guy Stevens, at Orwell, Saturday evening, May 14, at 8 o'clock, when Miss Nellie Davis, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. William Davis, of this village, became the wife of Mrs. Stevens' brother, Emory A. Hamlin, of Lacona. The ceremony was performed by the Rev. Mr. Cross, pastor of the Orwell M. E. church. in the presence of about twenty-five friends and relatives. A lady friend of the bride presided at the piano and rendered the wedding march from Mendelssohn's "Mid-Summer Nights Dream" in a very artistic manner. The bride was attended by Miss Edith .E. Hamlin, of Altmar. a sister of the groom, and the best man was Byron F. Hamlin, of this village, a brother of the groom. The bride was handsomely gowned in dove colored satin foulard trimmed with chiffon and carried bride's roses. The bridesmaid's dress was of white silk muslin over cream silk She carried a bouquet of carnations. Cut flowers, smilax and potted plants were profusely used in decorating the house, which presented a very lovely appearance. The many useful and valuable presents received testified to the popularity of the young people. After congratulations had been extended to the happy pair dainty refreshments were served by Mrs. Stevens. Mr. and Mrs. Hamlin left for a brief wedding tour. Upon their return. June 1st they will be at home at Lacona. Their many Altmar friends unite in wishing them a long life of happiness.
