- Newspaper Obituary - ALICE A. ACKLEY HOMEMAKER - Watertown Daily Times (NY) - May 16, 1999 - The funeral for Alice A. Ackley, 76, of 21 Powers Ave., will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Carpenter-Stoodley Funeral Home, Belleville, with the Rev. Daniel Quinta officiating. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery, Sandy Creek. Mrs. Ackley died Friday morning at the State University of New York Health Science Center, Syracuse. Calling hours will be from 7 to 9 p.m Monday at the funeral home. Mrs. Ackley was a homemaker. Born July 20, 1922, in Hardington, Ontario, daughter of William E.E. and Lena Pearl Westbrook Reed, she moved with her family in 1924 to the United States. They lived on Pillar Point and later in Adams. She married Donald A. Ackley on March 13, 1946, at Rodman. They lived in Belleville from 1961 to 1983 and at Adams until 1990, when they moved to Lacona. Mr. Ackley died Oct. 9, 1995. Surviving are two sons, Donald E., Adams, and Clinton A., Lorraine; three daughters, Mrs. Fred (Amelia) Russell, Syracuse, Mrs. Leo (Louise) Russell, Kissimmee, Fla., and Mrs. Michael (Edna) Stevens, Lacona; two sisters, Velma Murphy and Mrs. Robert (Willemina) Relyea, both of Adams, 13 grandchildren and five great- grandchildren. A sister, Pearl E. Graves, died Oct. 14, 1995.
