      Raymond B. Colvin, 96, of 209 East Ave., East Syracuse, died Saturday at Van Duyn Nursing Home.

      Born in Albion, he lived in East Syracuse since 1940 and had also lived in Altmar. He worked for the New York Central Railroad for 48 years, retiring in 1969. He also worked in the construction of the Bennett Bridge in Orwell.

      He was a member of the Onondaga Lodge 802, East Syracuse, and the Brotherhood of Railway Trainmen and Altmar Grange.

      His wife, the former Ethel Ingerson, died in 1992. A daughter, Althea C. Hall, and his sister, Dorothy Cronk, died previously.

      Surviving are three sons, Raymond B. Jr. of Butler, Asa W. of East Syracuse and Robert L. of Central Square; five daughters, Edith M. Gillespie of Cicero, Charlotte C. Alexander of Constantia, Jessie C. Gotham of Camden, Myrtis E. King of East Syracuse and Nancy J. Waite of Parish; several grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.

      Services will be 11 a.m. Monday at Foster-Hax Funeral Home. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery, Altmar.

      Calling hours are 4 to 7 p.m. today at the funeral home, 7385 Park St., Pulaski. Masonic services are 6 p.m. today by the Onondaga Lodge.

      Contributions may be made to Onondaga County Hospice.
