      Ruth E. Wallace, 63, Potsdam, formerly of Clarksville, Tenn., died Friday at the home of her daughter and son-in-law, Tammy Lynne Jerome Carista and Arthur Carista, O'Brien Road.

      Mrs. Wallace worked for several years in food service at Clarkson University and at Fiacco's Restaurant.

      She enjoyed embroidery, sewing, knitting and crocheting.

      Born March 18, 1941, in Potsdam, daughter of Allen and Mary Westerdick Ramsey, she attended Potsdam schools.

      A marriage in Potsdam to Mervin Ross Jerome ended in divorce. He died in 1998.

      She married Edison "Pete" Wallace in Clarksville, where they resided until his death.

      Surviving besides her daughter and son-in-law are three other daughters and a son-in-law, Tina Marie Peck, Massena, Sheree G. Jerome Shephard and William Shephard, Altmar, and Pamela Jo Jerome French and Kenneth French, Potsdam; seven brothers, James, Sherman, Larry and William Ramsey, all of Potsdam, Steven Ramsey, Las Vegas, Nev., Roger Ramsey, Oklahoma, and Edward Ramsey, West Potsdam; seven sisters, Dorothy Williams, Parishville, Janet "Lila" Bush, Central Square, Shirley LaBaff, West Potsdam, Betty Mackey and Gracie Richards, both of Norwood, Linda Russell, Lawrenceville, and Mary Lynn Berger, Madrid; 13 grandchildren, two great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

      A sister, Agnes Ramsey, and two brothers, John and Frank Ramsey, died before her.

      The funeral will be at 11:15 a.m. Monday at Garner Funeral Home with the Rev. Richard Will officiating. Burial will be in Bayside Cemetery.

      Calling hours will be from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
