- Newspaper Obituary - Tuesday, July 19, 1949 Oswego Palladium Times - Oswego, New York - Pulaski Obituary - Mrs. Oren P. Coon - Pulaski - Mrs. Alice Lillian Coon, 78, died Monday night at the Hubbard Nursing Home, Fernwood, where she had been a patient for the past eleven months. She was the widow of Oren P. Coon whom she married on Sep. 2, 1891. She was born Aug. 21, 1871, in the town of Orwell, daughter of Albert and Frances West. She was a charter member of the Meunder class of the Methodist Church, a member of the WCTU and a former member of J. B. Butler Post, WRC. She had always made her home in the vicinity of Pulaski. Funeral services will be held from the Taylor funeral home, Pulaski, at 2 p.m. Wednesday, by Rev. James N. Pauley. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery, Sandy Creek. Surviving are two sons, Earl, Watertown, and Howard Coon, Fulton, three grandchildren and three great grandchildren.
Newspaper Obituary - Thursday, July 21, 1949 Pulaski Democrat - Mrs.Oren Coon, Pulaski, Dies Following Illness - Mrs. Alice Lillian Coon, widow of the late Oren Coon, died at the Hubbard nursing home in Fernwood, Monday evening where she had been a patient for the past 11 months. Funeral services were held from the Taylor funeral home in North Jefferson street, Wednesday afternoon at 2 p.m. with Rev. James N. Pauley, pastor of the Methodist church, officiating. Burial was made in Woodlawn cemetery at Sandy Creek., She is survived by two sons, Earl Coon of. Watertown, and Harold Coon of Fulton; three grandchildren, Shirley and Marilyn Coon both of Fulton, and Robert Coon, serving with the Navy in Guam; and three great grandchildren. Mrs. Coon was born in the town of Orwell, Aug. 21, 1871, the daughter of Albert and Frances West. She married Mr. Coon Sept- 2. 1891, whose death occurred in October. 1941. She was a member of the Pulaski Methodist church and a charter member of the Maunder class of that church, a member of the W. C. T. U.. and a former member of the Women's Relief Corps, J. B. Butler Post.
