    • Newspaper Article - Thursday, December 23, 1886 Pulaski Democrat - Pulaski, New York - On Thursday evening Miss Minnie Manwaring will be married at her home in Texas to Ralph R. Herrick of this town.

Newspaper Article - Thursday, January 6, 1887 Pulaski Democrat - Pulaski, New York - Married - Texas - A large number of friends and relatives of J. T. Manwaring met at his residence Thursday, December 23, to witness the marriage of his daughter, Minnie, to Ralph R. Herrick, of Pulaski. After the ceremony an excellent supper was served and then an adjournment was taken to the parlor, where a Christmas tree was almost breaking down with valuable presents for old and young, of which the bride and groom received a large part. The first was a large, elegant Bible, by Mr. and Mrs. H. J. Herrick, the groom's parents. Then came a mysterious box that was shipped by express to Miss Minnie Manwaring, from Syracuse. When the box was first unpacked by her and Mr. R. R. H., it was found to contain nothing but straw and a note reading similar to this: "Unpack with care. Checked twice. Most shortages arise from being thrown out of the straw." The box was received a week or two before the event it was put on the Christmas tree by Mr. Manwaring, and when examined by the bride and groom it was found to contain an elegant silver cake basket Quite a joke of the bride and groom! Then, came the other presents - silver knives and forks, spoons, butter dishes, butter knives, sugar spoons, $60 in money by the groom's parents, articles of betting, clothing, toilet, etc. Presents were received from Chenango County, Onondaga County, Cleveland, Ohio, Plane, Illinois, Kansas, and San Francisco, California. The ceremony was performed by the bride's uncle, C. A. Sairs, J. P., of Oswego city.

Newspaper Article - Thursday, January 6, 1887 Pulaski Democrat - Pulaski, New York - Married - At the residence of the bride's parents, Mr. and Mrs. J. T. Manwarren, December 23, 1886, by C. A.
