    • Stewart F. Pappa, age 82, longtime resident of Williamstown, passed away Wednesday at his home. Stewart was born March 11, 1930 in Williamstown. He attended Williamstown Schools. Stewart married Evelyn Balcom on June 7, 1952. He was employed by F.X. Caprara Chevy, Salmon River Chevy, and Franklin Chevy, and he owned Goselin Chrysler Plymouth selling vehicles for over 40 years. He was also employed by Halsey Equipment Co. in Mexico. Stewart also owned Kasoag Lake Park, and was Town of Williamstown Supervisor from 1988 until 2008. Stewart was a charter member of the Kasoag Snowmobile Trailblazers, and a former member of the Albion Fish & Game Club, St. Patrick's Church in Williamstown. He was a social member of the Hastings-Gorski Post #1128 American Legion. He also coached Pulaski Little League, and managed the Kasoag Lake baseball team in the State League. Surviving: his wife, Evelyn; four sons, Vic (Linda) Pappa of Bridgeport, Frank (Bridgette) Pappa of Altmar, Steven Pappa of Parish, and Pat (Jenn) Pappa of Orwell; four daughters, Diane Pappa of Syracuse, Cathy (Brian) Britton of Williamstown, Janet (companion Toad) Conway of Williamstown, and Becky (John) Rattray of Williamstown; three brothers, James Pappa of Camden, Raymond Pappa of Pulaski and Gary Pappa of Watkins Glen; one sister, Shirley Agrippino of Syracuse; 20 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren. Stewart was predeceased by one grandson, Christopher Britton who died in 1995; one brother, Reggie Pappa; and one sister, Janice Comstock. Funeral services will be held 10 a.m. Saturday at the Foster-Hax Funeral Home, 52 Park Street, Pulaski with burial in Holy Cross Cemetery, Williamstown. Calling hours will be held Friday from 1 to 3 and 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home. Donations may be made to the Williamstown Fire Department Rescue Squad, PO Box 168, Williamstown, NY 13493.
