    • Newspaper Obituary - February 27, 2002 Post Standard - Syracuse, New York - Joyce Potter Ackley, 71, of Ken's Quiet Acres, Hastings, died Monday. Born in Clayton, she lived in Central Square several years before moving to Hastings in 1991. She owned and operated Ackley's Ceramic & Aquarium Shop in Central Square for 10 years and also operated Ackley's Aquarium Shop in Carthage for 10 years. Her husband, John, died in 2001; a son, James, died in 1990. Survivors: Two daughters, Linda Snow and Laura Goessl, both of Hastings; five sons, John M. of Syracuse, Steven of Moyock, N.C., Daniel of Pensacola, Fla., Kevin of Parish and Brian of Central Square; two sisters, Elsie Berry of Rodman and Bonnie Hockey of Carthage; 22 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren. Services: 11 a.m. Friday at Watson Funeral Home. Spring burial, Pleasant Lawn Cemetery. Calling hours, 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home, 631 S. Main St., Central Square.
