    • Mrs. Pearl Joslyn Dies at Home of Sister in Pulaski

      Mrs. Pearl Joslyn, 70, widow of W. Van Joslyn, died Tuesday morning October 30, 1951, at the home of her sister, Mrs. John P. Jones of Pulaski, where she had been tenderly cared for during the past four weeks. The funeral will be held at 2 p. m. Friday at the Weston and Woodard funeral home in Sandy Creek, with the Rev., Winton Halsted, pastor of the Sandy Creek Methodist church, officiating. Burial will be in Woodlawn cemetery.

      Friends may call at the funeral home Thursday afternoon from 3 to 5 o'clock and in the evening v from 7 to 9 o'clock.

      Mrs. Sadie Pearl Joslyn was born December 11, 1880 in Sandy Creek, the eldest daughter of Arthur Eugene and Eva Howard McNitt. Her early life was. spent in Sandy Creek and Ellisburg and she attended Sandy Creek schools.

      On November 11, 1896 she was married to William Van Joslyn, son of Thomas V.R. and Mary Woodard Joslyn of Sandy Creek. Their early married years were spent on the McNitt farm and they, continued to make their home in the vicinity of Sandy Creek and Ellisburg throughout their lives. Mrs. Joslyn was devoted to her home and family and delighted in her garden when leisure apd health, permitted. She was a member of the Sandy Creek Methodist church. Mr. Joslyn died October 4, 1942.

      Five Sons Survive

      She is suvived by five sons, Arthur of Ellisburg; Harold of St. Louis, Mo.; Earl, Raymond and Donald of Ellisburg and by a sister, Mrs. John (Mabel) Jones; of Pulaski, grandchildren and great grandchildren.

      A son, William Elbro; died in 1919 at the age of five. A sister, Mrs. Alfred (Grace) Bettinger died in 1918.

      Last Rites Friday For Mrs. Wm. Joslyn, 70

      Last rites for Mrs. Sadie Pearl Joslyn, 70, widow of William V. Joslyn, former resident of Ellisburg, who died at the home of her sister, Mrs. John Paul Jones Tuesday, will be held Friday at 2 p.m. from the Weston and Woodard funeral home in Sandy Creek.

      Rev. Winston Halstead of the Sandy Creek Methodist church will officiate and interment will be made in Woodlawn cemetery.

      Mrs. Joslyn has been ill at her sister's home the past four weeks
