    • Newspaper Article - DeRuyter Gleaner - Thursday, December 1, 1949 - Stewart-Yale - Miss Joyce Allene Yale, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Roy H. Yale of Delphi Falls, N. Y.( became the bride of Harry M Stewart, son of Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Stewart of Fabius, N. Y., at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, November 5th, In the Delphi Falls Community Church. Reverend James McConnell performed the double ring ceremony, assisted by Reverend R. Bertrand Brett In a double ring service. The bride, who was given in marriage by her father, chose white slipper satin with long pointed sleeves over the hand, fashioned with lace inserts. She wore pearls, a gift of the groom and carried a bouquet of white chrysanthemums. The matron of honor, Mrs. Frank Pine, sister of the bride, wore a gown of ashes of roses, satin, with matching crown and gloves. The bride's mother wore a gown of aqua crepe with brown accessories, and a red corsage. The groom's mother wore wine crepe, with black accessories, and wore a corsage of yellow roses.
      The church was trimmed with white chrysanthemums, accented with white candles. The best man was Edgar Stewart, brother of the groom. Ushers were Terrance D. Stewart, brother of the groom, and Charles E. Selover, brother-in-law of the bride. Music was furnished by Mrs. Alfred Little, aunt of the bride, who sang, "Oh. Promise Me" and "Because", accompanied by Miss Ruth Maxwell at the organ. The wedding reception was held immediately following the ceremony in the Delphi Falls. Community Hall, for approximately one hundred twenty-five guests. Mrs. Stewart, a graduate of Fabius Central School, la employed by the traffic department of the New York Telephone Company, Syracuse, N. Y. Mr. Stewart, who served twenty-eight months in the Marine Corps, is now employed as a carpenter. After a honeymoon through Pennsylvania, Ohio, Michigan and Canada, the couple will be at home at 411 Pleasant Street, Manlius, N. Y.
