      The funeral for Rose M. Roser, 69, of 1421 County Route 30, Ricard, will be at 1 p.m. Thursday at Summerville Funeral Home, Sandy Creek, with the Rev. Tim Hurne, pastor of Pine Meadows Wesleyan Church, officiating. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery, Orwell.

      Mrs. Roser, a resident of Ricard for 49 years, died at 8:54 p.m. Monday in Samaritan Medical Center, Watertown, where she had been a patient since July 1.

      Calling hours are 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home.

      Mrs. Roser and her husband retired in 1972 as owners and operators of a dairy farm.

      Born Jan. 13, 1927, at Redwood, daughter of George and Eva Dunn Countryman, she attended rural Redwood schools and married Osman Roser on July 29, 1947, in the town of Pamelia.

      Surviving besides her husband are two daughters, Mrs. Howard (Juley) Weisenburger and Linda Roser, both of Altmar; two sons, Larry and David, both of Altmar; four sisters, Grace Jacques, Altmar, Mayford Davis, Long View, Texas, Pat Tibbles, Redwood, and Diana Davis, Henderson, Texas; six brothers, Harry Countryman, Wolcott, Leonard Countryman, Redwood, Francis Countryman, Long View, William Countryman, Tylerville, Lyle Countryman, LaFargeville, and Robert Countryman, Newark; a half-brother, Clifford, Kentucky, and several nieces and nephews.

      A brother, Herbert L. Countryman, was killed during World War II, and another brother, Roy J. Countryman, died in 1968.
