- Mildred R. Sargent, 98, life resident of Albion, passed away Thursday at University Hospital, Syracuse. Mildred was born March 17, 1913, in Amboy. She graduated from Williamstown Central School and Rochester Institute School of Nursing. Mildred married James Turner Jr. in May 1931, and he died March 7, 1957. She was the charge nurse at Evergreen Adult Home in Pulaski for 34 years, retiring in 1983. She also worked private duty nursing for several years. Surviving: one son, Ronald (Lillian) Turner of Pulaski; 11 grandchildren (she resided for several years with her granddaughter Rhonda Stevens); 21 great-grandchildren; and several great-great-grandchildren. Mildred was predeceased by one daughter, Barbara Keeney, in 2004 and one granddaughter, Melody Lewis, in 2008. Graveside services will be 10 a.m. Wednesday, June 15, at Pineville Cemetery, with Pastor Edward Bennett officiating. Donations may be made to the or a charity of one's choice.
