Newspaper Obituary - Thursday, August 14, 1913 Oswego Daily Palladium - Oswego, New York - Mexico -Manwarren District, August 14 - Mrs. Jane Delong died at the home of her son, Jasper on Saturday morning, August 9th, after an illness of less than a week. She was born in Palermo in 1833, daughter of Gottleib and Eunice Pitcher. In 1852 she was married to John Delong, who died in 1889. Of that union eight children were born, three of whom have died. Those remaining are Dwight, Fernwood; Jasper, of this place; Mrs. Henry Schrieffer, Chicago, Illinois; Mrs. Runah Keller, Fulton, and Mrs. Dwight Hall, New Haven. When a girl she united with the Baptist Church at Palermo, afterward, upon taking up her residence here, uniting with the Daysville M. E. Church. She leaves besides the children named several grandchildren, a nephew, Charles Fleming of this place, and numerous other relatives and friends who will mourn her loss. But we feel that what is out loss will be her gain, for she had been heard to say many times that she was prepared to meet her Maker at any time. Funeral services were conducted by the Rev. R. F. Thomas, Fernwood, on Tuesday. Burial took place in the family plot in Daysville cemetery. Her children were all present at the funeral, with other relatives from Utica, Fulton and other places.
