Husband of Brittie Wallace Coon Stevens (married June 1, 1925 at Sandy Creek, New York; divorced) & Gladys Mae Martin Reynolds Stevens (married July 14, 1950 at Caughdenoy, Oswego County, New York.) [Notes: Brittie Wallace was born September 18, 1905 in Salem, Westmoreland County, Pennsylvania, a daughter of Samuel Preston and Maude Ellen Hill Wallace. Brittie was first married to Alonzo B. Coon on May 13, 1922 at Williamstown, New York, their marriage ended in divorce. After Donald and Brittie were divorced, Brittie married her third husband, Harry VanFleet. Brittie died January 19, 1990 in Auburn, Cayuga County, New York; she is buried with Harry in Saint Joseph's Cemetery in Fleming, Cayuga County, New York.] [Notes: Gladys Martin was born October 5, 1911 in Richland Township, Oswego County, New York, a daughter of Edward D. and Harriet Louise Bowers Martin. Gladys was first married to Orlando Buell Reynolds in 1929. Gladys died December 12, 1982 in Richland Township, New York, and is buried there with Orlando in the Richland Cemetery.]
Newspaper Obituary - Friday, January 3, 1986 Palladium Times - Oswego, New York - Donald R. Stevens - Richland - Donald R. Stevens, 78, of Richland, died Thursday evening at Lee Memorial Hospital in Fulton. Born June 4, 1907 in Waterville, New York, he was the son of the late Ernest and Grace (Anderson) Stevens. He attended school at Waterville. Mr. Stevens first married Brittie Coon of Williamstown on June 1, 1925. He later married Gladys M. Martin on July 14, 1950. She died December 12, 1982. Mr. Stevens retired in 1971 from the New York Central Railroad after 35 years of service. He retired as a foreman in the maintenance department. He was a member of the Richland Church of Christ and the Pulaski Lodge IOOF. Mr. Stevens was predeceased by two sons, Alonzo in 1982 and Walter in 1930. Surviving are five sons, Raymond Stevens of Venice Center, New York, Donald, Charles and Leroy Stevens, all of Auburn and Ward Stevens of Altmar, two daughters, Mrs. Grace Rydelek of Central Square and Mrs. Doris E. Smith of Syracuse; five stepsons, Orlando F., William H., Richard D. and Frank S. Reynolds, all of Richland, and Frederick V. of Pineville, New York; five stepdaughters, Mrs. Mary C. Woolson, Mrs. Elsie M. Klebs, Mrs. Ruth A. Waite and Mrs. Jane E. Dingman, all of Richland, and Mrs. Susie J. Norton of Sandy Creek; two brothers, George Stevens of Lacona and Elbert Stevens of Pulaski; one half- brother, Edward Stevens of Orwell; two half-sisters, Mrs. Harriet Hilton of Orwell and Miss Amy Stevens of Salt Lake City, Utah; several grandchildren; several great-grandchildren, and several great-great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held Monday at 1 p.m. from the Richland Church of Christ, Richard Robbins, pastor of the Church of Christ, Western Hills, New Jersey will officiate. Spring burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery, Orwell, New York. Calling hours will be Saturday from 7 to 9 p.m. and Sunday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the Foster-Hax Funeral Home, 7385 Park Street, Pulaski.
