    • Peter D. Abbott October 10, 2015 Peter D. Abbott, age 70, resident of Pulaski since 1976, passed away unexpectedly Saturday at University of Vermont Medical Center in Burlington, VT. Peter was born May 9, 1945 in Sussex, NJ the son of Raymond and Thelma Streeter Abbott. He graduated from Canisteo High School in 1963, and he served in the United States Navy from 1967 until 1972. Peter married Laura Decker on June 12, 1970. He was employed by the New York Power Authority at Fitzpatrick Nuclear Plant from 1976 until 2000, when he retired. Peter enjoyed reading, horse shoes, playing poker and golf. Surviving are his wife, Laura; four daughters, Crystal (Isaiah) Gieck of Florida, Rachel (Neil) Mathews of Pulaski, Tiffany Abbott of Eden, NY and Jamie Abbott and her companion, Joel Lehman of Burlington, VT; one brother, Jay Abbott of Litchfield, CT; one brother-in-law, Robert Grogan of Canisteo, and four grandchildren. Peter was predeceased by one daughter, Samantha Abbott who passed away May 9, 1985, and one sister, Judy Grogan who passed away in 2013. Funeral services will be held 5 p.m. Thursday, October 15 at the Foster-Hax Funeral Home, 52 Park Street, Pulaski with burial at the convenience of the family.
