      Newspaper Obituary - Friday, May 8, 1998 Watertown Daily Times - Watertown, New York - Reta G. Summerville, Longtime Pulaski Resident - Reta G. Summerville, 86, of 3434 Maple Avenue, died Thursday at St. Joseph's Hospital Health Center, Syracuse, where she was admitted Saturday. Mrs. Summerville had lived in Pulaski for 57 years. She was a member, past matron and past treasurer of Pulaski-Puritan Chapter 159, Order of the Eastern Star, and a member of the Civic Club and Park United Methodist Church. She also was a member, past president, past Oswego County president and past 5th District president of both Cable Trail Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 8534 and Robert Edwards American Legion Post 358 auxiliaries. She was an elections inspector for the town of Richland. Born December 6, 1911, in Oswego, a daughter of George and Maude Glassford Tremaine, she was educated at Oswego High School. She married Charles L. Summerville on January 13, 1934, at Trinity Methodist Church, Oswego. The couple lived in Oswego until 1941, when they moved to Pulaski. Mr. Summerville, a retired tool and die maker for General Electric Corp., Syracuse, died January 27, 1991. Surviving are three daughters, Mrs. Samuel (Shirley) Blais, Liverpool, Patricia Van Nort, North Syracuse, and Mrs. Francis (Charlotte) DeGaetano, Pulaski; a son, Charles L. Jr., Sandy Creek; a sister, Patricia Batchelor, Fulton, 11 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. A daughter, Carol Clark, died February 18, 1991. A sister, Edith Knuth, and a brother, Floyd Tremaine, also died before her. The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at Park United Methodist Church with the Rev. Elizabeth Mowry, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in South Richland Cemetery, Fernwood.
