      Bennie VanBrocklin, 55, Dry Hill Road, died Friday at St. Joseph's Hospital, Syracuse, after suffering a heart attack Wednesday.

      Born March 17, 1941, in Syracuse, son of Kenneth and Ethel Mae Daly VanBrocklin, he graduated in 1959 from Pulaski High School. Mr. VanBrocklin attended Jefferson Community College and received his bachelor's degree in teaching and his master's degree in education from Potsdam State University College.

      Mr. VanBrocklin was a high school art teacher at Carthage Central School for the past five years. He was previously employed by Kinney Drug Stores and Lincoln First Bank, both in Pulaski. He also worked at Wellesley Island State Park during summers for several years.

      Mr. VanBrocklin resided in Pulaski, Tupper Lake, and Potsdam moving to Watertown 15 years ago.

      He was a member of Potsdam American Legion Post 0074 and New York State United Teachers Union.

      Surviving are a brother, Barry, Sandy Creek; a niece; three nephews, and several aunts and uncles.

      The funeral will be at 7:30 p.m. Monday at Foster-Hax Funeral Home, Pulaski, with the Rev. John Hogan officiating. Spring Burial will be in Pulaski Cemetery.

      Calling hours will be 4:30 to 7:30 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
