Oakley "Pete" Mowers, 86, of 9300 Pulaski St., died Saturday at A.L. Lee Memorial Hospital, Fulton.
The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at the Foster-Hax Funeral Home, Pulaski, with the Rev. Patrick Holder officiating. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery, Williamstown.
Calling hours will be from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
Surviving are two daughters, Myrtle Mowers and Mary Ann Barber, both of Altmar; a brother, Harold Mowers, Newark Valley; a sister, Christina Landers, Sandy Pond; five grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren.
Born Feb. 2, 1908, in Altmar, son of George and Myrtle Waite Mowers, he married Genevieve Wheeler Sept. 1, 1928, in Pulaski. Mrs. Mowers died Oct. 31, 1986.
Mr. Mowers was a life resident of Altmar. He was employed in the maintenance department at Altmar-Parish-Williamstown Central School for 17 years, retiring in 1976. He was also a self-employed plumbing and heating contractor and a plumber for the Gorman Hardware Store, Williamstown.
He was also employed by Columbia Mills, Minetto, and Horton Mills, Altmar, for many years.
Mr. Mowers was a member of the Riverside Methodist Church.
