      Newspaper Obituary - February 23, 1996 Watertown Daily Times - FLORENCE M. TOWSLEY, 83, DIES IN OSWEGO - Florence M. Towsley, 83, of 4016 Route 11 South, died Wednesday at Oswego Hospital. The funeral will be 9:30 a.m. Monday at Taylor-Vida Funeral Home, followed by a Mass of the Resurrection to be celebrated at 10 a.m. in St. John the Evangelist Church with the Rev. John Hogan officiating. Spring burial will be in South Richland Cemetery, Fernwood. Calling hours will be from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. Contributions may be made to Northern Oswego County Ambulance. Surviving are her husband, Richard; three daughters, Mrs. Harold (Shirley) England, Sandy Creek, June Rivers, Mexico, and Mrs. David (Mary Jane) Mayers, Clay; nine grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Born Feb. 7, 1913, in Petersburg, Iowa, daughter of John and Margaret Willenborg Sassen, she graduated from Pulaski Academy, Pulaski Training School and had taught school prior to her marriage. She married Richard A. Towsley June 12, 1937, in St. John the Evangelist Church. The couple had operated a farm in Pulaski since their marriage. Mrs. Towsley was a communicant of St. John the Evangelist Church and a member of the Pulaski Senior Citizens Club.

      Newspaper Obituary - February 23, 1996 Syracuse Post Standard - Florence M. Towsley, 83, of 4016 Route 11 S. died Wednesday at Oswego Hospital. A native of Petersburg, Iowa, Mrs. Towsley resided most of her life in the Pulaski area. She and her husband, Richard, operated a farm in Pulaski since their marriage. Mrs. Towsley was a communicant of St. John the Evangelist Church and a member of the Pulaski Senior Citizens Club. Surviving besides her husband are three daughters, Shirley England of Sandy Creek, June Rivers of Mexico and Mary Jane Mayers of Clay; nine grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
