Former Tully resident M. Isabel Bishop, 75, died Monday at the home of her son in Johnstown.
A native of Ottawa, Ontario, Mrs. Bishop lived in Tully many years before moving to Johnstown in 1990. She retired in 1972 as a special education teacher with Westhill school district and previously taught elementary school with Tully Central Schools. Mrs. Bishop was a graduate of Oswego State Teachers College and received her masters degree from Syracuse University. Her husband, William G., died in 1986.
Mrs. Bishop was a former member of St. Leo's Church, Tully, and a member of St. Patrick's Church in Johnstown and its Altar Guild. In Johnstown, she was a member of the Women of the Moose Chapter 685 and the 50-Plus Club.
Surviving are a son, Edward J. of Johnstown; two brothers, Bernard of Tully and Gregory Rule of Fulton; five grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday in St. Leo's Church, where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by the Rev. Louis Aiello. Burial will be in St. Leo's Cemetery, Tully.
There will be no calling hours.
Hartwell Funeral Home, Tully, has charge of arrangements.
